A note from Paola

A few weekends ago, I hosted the very first Fanm Djanm headwrap workshop at our Austin studio, and it was truly incredible.

The room was alive with color! Old fabrics draped across tables, bright laughter filling the space, and women of all walks of life gathered together. It was intimate, which gave me the gift of spending one-on-one time with each participant. Together we wrapped, tucked, and twisted, experimenting with different styles to fit different needs. Some wanted a chic look to dress up, while others simply wanted a practical way to keep their curls out of their faces.

As the evening unfolded, something even more beautiful happened. Women mingled, shared stories, and formed new friendships. There was joy in the room, not just in the styles we created but in the community we built together.

I left the event feeling so full, my heart overflowing with gratitude. To create a warm, welcoming space for women, especially women with tight curls, to show up fully and learn the ritual of headwrapping is nothing short of a dream come true.

This is just the beginning. I can’t wait to share this experience with more of you at future workshops.
