OUR RESPONSIBILITY EFFORTS
At Fanm Djanm we consciously create while keeping in mind the environment and the people that share it.
Named in the image of the women entrepreneurs in Haiti’s market, here at Fanm Djanm we are deeply connected to how the actions of one person can create change for everyone around them.
We began our journey in sustainability with our Zero Waste initiative, whereby excess fabric is recycled and transformed into something equally exciting. We value the education and changes that will come as we do our part to upkeep a green planet and pride ourselves on being transparent in the process.
PARTNERSHIPS
Great minds think alike. We’ve launched Ti Mache to bring thoughtfully made creations from around the world to your front door and support women entrepreneurs in the process.
HAVE QUESTIONS? WE HAVE SOME ANSWERS
Are your products vegan?
All of our products are vegan, with the exception of our Silk headwraps. To learn more about the contents of our products, click here to view the material guide.
Where are your products made?
Want to know who made your Fanm Djanm Headwrap? Our hair accessories are made here in the US, in small batches, by local Austin seamstresses. To learn more about who made your headwrap click here to watch our profile of Kelly, our lead production seamstress.
Why are your products so expensive?
From our headwraps to our bandanas to our jewelry, the costs of our products reflect the craftsmanship invested in each piece. While other companies subsidize their cost by outsourcing to a manufacturer, all of our hair accessories are locally made, in small batches, at a fair wage
What materials do you use to ship your products?
Taking our responsibility to the environment as seriously as our commitment to our customers, Fanm Djanm is transitioning to eco-friendly packaging. All orders are wrapped in recycled closed seal bags and shipped in recycled poly-mailers. Jewelry and pins are wrapped in a biodegradable alternative to bubble wrap.
