We've created a handy guide to help you care for your headwraps to ensure their protection and safekeeping.
Your headwraps are handmade from premium high-quality fabrics. Properly washing and storing them can prolong their lifespan, preserve their beauty, and ensure they continue to protect your hair.
- Add a gentle detergent to cold weather
- Place your headwrap into the water and lather for 3-5 minutes
- Allow your wrap to soak in the soapy mixture for 30 minutes
- Drain and rinse out your headwrap with clean water
- Gently gather and wring your wrap to release excess water
- Hang dry printed cotton and rayon headwraps. For stretch knits, lay flat on a hard surface to air dry.
All of our headwraps require proper care. Here are some general tips for caring for your selections.
- Oil, grease, and other products applied to the hair can soil your headwrap. Consider laying a bonnet or base layer underneath before styling.
- Makeup near the hairline may get on your headwrap. To remove, soak in warm soapy water for at least an hour, then follow the recommended laundering process.
- Headwraps can be re-worn multiple times between washes. To prolong the life of your wrap, spot wash where applicable and fully launder when visibly soiled.
Store your headwrap in a cool, dry place to keep it looking and feeling its best. Doing so will prevent any moisture buildup and keep your head wrap ready to wear whenever you need it.
We store ours two ways; by neatly folding them and placing them in a drawer or by folding them in half widthwise and then twisting them into a ball around our hand. Both methods help keep the headwraps organized and prevent any creases or wrinkles that can be difficult to smooth out later.
If you notice any wrinkles in your headwrap before your next wear, don't worry! In most situations, they do not show once the material is wrapped around your crown. However, a quick fix is passing a cool iron over the material, which will help smooth out any creases and leave your headwrap as good as new. Just use a low heat setting to avoid damaging the fabric.
